Zoo - April 25, 2009

The girls and I spent the day at the Meskar Park Zoo in Evansville. Ruthy of course had to take pictures of every animal. I posted a few so everyone can enjoy my future photographer handywork. She's actually pretty good. Thank goodness for digital. Can you imagine how expensive the film would be!!!!????

The gibbons. Actually not a monkey, but the smallest species of apes.

Our little bat! She had fun in the enchanted forest. She was a little upset that the sprinklers weren't on. Colleen and I were too.

We were close enough to touch the giraffe. Ruthy decided not too.

The girls at the end of the day. Colleen was exhausted. Ruthy was mad. The zoo had no more animals!!!!

Ruthy is 3!!!

Ruthy went to the Tri-fest in Henderson, Kentucky on her birthday. As we were walking up to the festival, she looked up and said "Wow!! Is this my birthday party?" Of course I couldn"t break her heart and tell her no so I just smiled. She thought since sissy, mamaw, Aunt Jessica, Camrin and Carsyn were there it must be for her birthday. She had a blast. We had fried pickles, fried green tomatoes, lemonade shake-ups and according to Ruthy the worlds biggest hot dog!! She rode several rides with Camrin.
On Saturday night Nathan, Kim, and Jeff came over. We enjoyed grilled hot dogs, watermelon and strawberries. Nathan insisted his mommy search town for a pink dump truck for Ruthy's birthday. He compromised with a pink wagon that dumps.

Ruthy decided she wanted her hair cut for her birhtday. They cut 2.5 inches. We think she cute as can be!!!

Ruthy and I made her birthday cake. We attempted to make a Cinderella cake. If you use your imagination you can somewhat see Cinderella!!

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday. What does it mean? A basket full of goodies? A warm meal with family after church? The hunt of the colorful egg? The reminder of how miracles come to be? It something different to everyone and nothing to some. To me its the reminder that loved ones pass away but we will be reunited one day.

Anutn Jessica and Colleen fighting over an egg. Through all the rolling around and yellling on the ground -- Ruthy and Camrin got the prize in the egg.

The clan going over their eggs. I was so pleased with the way they shared their prizes after they were finished hunting.

Once again fighting to get to an egg first!!

Ruthy spots an egg. She is growing up so fast. Mamaw loves her babies. She attempting to help Carysn get the whole concept of Easter Egg Hunting but hery picking flowers and leaves is so much fun!!!

Camrin and our miracle baby Carsyn in their matching Easter outfits. Its been a year since Carsyn entered this world a little too early, but everyday he shows us that God does answer prayers in his own time and his own way. Someone once told us that as Jesus calls one soul home, He sends another to this world. I truly believe this. Carysn came into the world shortly after Papaw Bobby lost his battle with cancer. I know in my heart that Carsyn had a special angel teaching him to breath on his own. Miracles are here -- just listen to the laughter of the children.

Camrin and Ruthy had a blast hunting eggs. Everytime they picked one up they shake and yell "Somethings in it!" They are growing up so fast. We are so blessed to have them and they remind us everyday. For instance as we were all sitting down for lunch, Camrin said, "We need to pray."

cooking with mommy

Ruthy's class had an Easter party. She got to make the choice between cupcakes or dirt pudding. She liked the idea of having gummy worms and eating dirt. She was so excited to mix the pudding by herself.

We were crushing oreos in the food processor for our "dirt."

Her class loved eating the dirt pudding. We even bought clay flowerpots for the bowls.

Dying Easter Eggs

Ruthy and mommy waiting for our eggs to finish soaking...
We have a green one. Most of the eggs became tye-dye Ruthy style. She wanted to dump them in dye several times.

Her eggs before being submerged in every color three and four times

Daddy was allowed to do one egg. Ruthy had to approve which egg!

Kelly and I took a mini-vacation to Indianopolis. I had to attend the Indiana Early Childhood Education spring conference and I convinced Kelly to come with me. We got to spend some much

needed alone time.

We spent Saturday evening walking around downtown. It was nice not having to know where public potties were but we sure mssed our girls.
