Christmas Card selections

A few of our options for our Christmas cards this year!!!

12 days of Christmas

We have been celebrating the 12 days of Christmas this year. Ruthy is so excited to be able to count down till Santa comes by opening a small gift. She can even somewhat put together that some guys gave baby Jesus some presents too. Its all too cute listening to her explain it. Tears came to my eyes and she stopped and said "Mommy are you okay? Jesus will make you happy. He grew up!" Colleen couldn't help but laugh. She said please tell me I wasn't like that when I was her age. I said what excited about Jesus -- yes you were. She said Yeah I know-- thats why I love church camp.

Any who here are some pictures from the first few days of our little countdown.

pictures from Boo at the Zoo

Meskar park zoo --- Boo at the Zoo
Our Princess the Little Mermaid

The big scary spider

Ruthy was not impressed with Captain Jack Black and his scorpion

Ruthy's words " I not pet that yellow thing or that black thing with all that hair!"

Exhausted and cold from trick or treating the zoo animals!!!

Boo at the Zoo

We went to Boo at the Zoo Saturday night. A bit chilly but a great practice run for ruthy to be exposed the costumes! She still isn't a fan!! Colleen even had some fun -- Meskar Park Zoo had a "adult huanted house" and a "child friendly huanted house" - can you guess which one Colleen went through?! Luckily a friend of mine was at the zoo with her kiddos and took Ruthy so I could take Colleen through the haunted house. She was a little more than slightly frightened! One guy who was a visitor, dressed as Batman, even took time to pose with kids! Of course Ruthy had nothing to do with that. Pictures to come...

Our family vacation to Destin, Florida

I love this picture of Ruthy and her daddy exploring the beach.
Ruthy was so excited to see the dolphins. She thought it was amazing that one of the names was Ariel!!

Me and my lovely husband. He never once complained about having to do all the driving. He is so good!!!

We had a blast in Destin!!! We drove from Evansville to Destin and by time me and the girls woke up kelly had already driven half way!!!!

Ruthy absolutely loved the beach and ocean. Colleen enjoyed the beach as well but I think her favorite was going to the haunted house with Kelly! As for me and Kelly we just enjoyed watching the girls interact on the beach.

This is my favorite picture. It shows just how protective and caring Colleen is toward her little sister. Ruthy really couldn't ask for a better sister. I know that Ruthy completely adores her big sister!

Our trip to the zoo

Daddy and Ruthy walking through the Amazonia at Mesker Park Zoo. I love watching the two of them walk hand in hand. She is such a Daddy's girl. She has him wrapped around every single finger!

The 3 of us by on of the trees in the The Amazonian Forest!

Daddy and Ruthy had a blast at the zoo!! They went through the Rainforest Canopy. Ruthy was thrilled to be in the trees with the monkeys.

Donna the Hippo!! Ruthy has never seen her out of the water. She was so excited.

Before we left the zoo, Ruthy had to play in the water fountains by the entrance/exit gates. She had a blast. This was the first time that she was actually brave enough to go into the water. She usually doesn't like water splashing in her face!

Memorial Day

Ruthy spent the day enjoying the warm weather before the storms rolled into the area. We made homemade ice cream - cherry vanilla!! Yum yum. Ruthy and Colleen helped make potatoe salad and deviled eggs. We also rolled out Ruthy's little pool in the back yard. She had a blast --- sorry for all the pictures. We took tons of her playing in the pool. She is growing up so fast.

Colleen

We had another 6 month check up at Uk Medical Center. Dr. Bayliff was quite suprised with the new Colleen. She never knew the girl could actually talk. Colleen talked to Dr. Bayliff more during this visit then she has the entire time we have been under her care.

We had to wear mask to protect the children who were recieving chemo treatments. Also a precautionary measure against Swine flu.

We were able to take the mask off once we got to our little room. We got some great news the new medicine Colleen in taking is doing its job! Her platelet count is 144,000!!!!!! Her count hasn't been this high -- well never. The highest number we have heard since first grade was in the 90's. A few more test like this and Dr. Bayliff will feel comfortable saying that she is in remission. She has no restrictions now!!!

Zoo - April 25, 2009

The girls and I spent the day at the Meskar Park Zoo in Evansville. Ruthy of course had to take pictures of every animal. I posted a few so everyone can enjoy my future photographer handywork. She's actually pretty good. Thank goodness for digital. Can you imagine how expensive the film would be!!!!????

The gibbons. Actually not a monkey, but the smallest species of apes.

Our little bat! She had fun in the enchanted forest. She was a little upset that the sprinklers weren't on. Colleen and I were too.

We were close enough to touch the giraffe. Ruthy decided not too.

The girls at the end of the day. Colleen was exhausted. Ruthy was mad. The zoo had no more animals!!!!

Ruthy is 3!!!

Ruthy went to the Tri-fest in Henderson, Kentucky on her birthday. As we were walking up to the festival, she looked up and said "Wow!! Is this my birthday party?" Of course I couldn"t break her heart and tell her no so I just smiled. She thought since sissy, mamaw, Aunt Jessica, Camrin and Carsyn were there it must be for her birthday. She had a blast. We had fried pickles, fried green tomatoes, lemonade shake-ups and according to Ruthy the worlds biggest hot dog!! She rode several rides with Camrin.
On Saturday night Nathan, Kim, and Jeff came over. We enjoyed grilled hot dogs, watermelon and strawberries. Nathan insisted his mommy search town for a pink dump truck for Ruthy's birthday. He compromised with a pink wagon that dumps.

Ruthy decided she wanted her hair cut for her birhtday. They cut 2.5 inches. We think she cute as can be!!!

Ruthy and I made her birthday cake. We attempted to make a Cinderella cake. If you use your imagination you can somewhat see Cinderella!!
