construction time

We now have a new subfloor in the girls new room. After ripping up the old floor I'm honestly suprised they didn't fall through the kitchen ceiling! By the way I almost did!! Kelly and I were carrying a piece of wood for the floor and I lost my balance on the beams. Long story short there is now a crack above my kitchen floor! Yah me!! Just wanted to share a few random pictures with everyone.

Are you sitting down? Kelly trusted me to use the circular saw to cut a board! It was the slowest cut for mankind.
Drywall is next!

Snow snow go away...

We are getting a little antsy from all the snow and ice. We are still under a state of emergency. Still thousands are without power, however we are a few of the lucky ones that still have power. We decided to do "sunny" crafts to encourage the sun to do a little melting!! So what better idea than to paint sun catchers. Even daddy got in on this one!We had a small variety to choose from: butterflies, dragonflies, Princess, and girls rule! Colleen choose girls rule and used "dark" colors (how ling does this stage last again?). Kelly painted a dragonfly. He took a timeout from nailing down subfloor to enjoy some family time. Ruthy painted one of each -- and a little of everything else!
This is Ruthy's princess suncatcher.

Colleen trying to act like she's not having fun. After she was done she painted on canvas -- A Twilight themed painting.

Ruthy's first snow day

Ruthy finally got to experience a "snow day"! We are under a state of emergency so no work today. We decided to go outside and play in the snow.

Ruthy attempting to walk to the backyard. The snow went up to her knees. So...
Colleen had to pick her up and take her to the backyard.

This is the "skeleton tree". Ruthy pointed it out across the street.

Ruthy discovered the joy of a fresh icicle!!

We were playing in the back yard. A little trickier than it sounds. Under the snow was a soloid sheet of ice!

trucks, trains and TWILIGHT

Camrin turned the big three. He's opening the present from me and the girls.
Ruthy sittting in uncle Joe's lap at Camrins birthday party.

Colleen got an early birthday present from Aunt Donna...

It's the 4th Twillight book!!!

Fun-filled weekends

This weekend was the second week for Upwards basketball and cheerleading at church. Colleen is becoming so confident on the court. this truly is a blessed program. I'm thrilled that Colleen is learning to exhibit good sportsmanship and a christian attitude while playing a sport she enjoys. I know the middle school coach doesn't appreciate the fact that Colleen will stop to help a player off the floor but I just smile and clap. i hope she always follows the path God has intended for her.

The 5th - 7th grade girls matching up players. They play man to man.

Colleen has her own cheering section, Jemmiah, Ruthy and Camrin (he's getting a "pop"). Actually these two cheer the whole game no matter what.

Colleen shooting a free-throw shot. She missed but players from both teams told her good job!!

We are joining the technology world!

We got a new computer for Christmas so we decided to start a family blog! We hope our friends and family enjoy it.
The girls are getting so big. Colleen is about to turn 12. She is beginning to become caring young lady. She is obsessed with the Twilight series. We are pleased to say she was baptized this past year.
Ruthy finally weighs 27 pounds. However her attitude is equal to preteen. She is into the Disney princesses. We are attempting to potty train (extremely frustrating)!
We are working on remodeling the upstairs so that we can finally move the girls upstairs to a real bedroom.
